Monchy Capricho

Ramón A. Javier Demorizi (born July 6, 1969 in Santo Domingo ), known by his stage name Monchy Capricho , is a Dominican singer.

As a child, Monchy Capricho took part in Freddy Beras Goico's television show El Gordo de la Semana and then won a music competition organized by Luis Kenton , in front of thirteen other candidates , with the aim of founding an internationally competitive children's band. With this Grupo Mermelada he recorded titles like Super Robot , Angelito and Marielena , took part in the children's event America esta es tu cancion in Orlando / Florida and was a guest in New York on the Show del Mediodia . At the suggestion of his father, Bertico Sosa became his musical mentor during this time .

At the end of the 1980s he left Mermelada and founded his own orchestra, with which he recorded his first album Monchy & Orquesta Capricho (including the titles Volvamos a Vivir , Recuerda , Nuestro Amor , Rodando , Siervo de Amor ), appearances in Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Panama and several cities in the USA and won first prizes as “Discovery of the Year”.

In the 1990s he interrupted his musical career and lived in the USA. After a ten-year break, he returned to the Dominican Republic in 2008 and successfully presented himself with the Merengue Mátala . Colleagues such as Sergio Vargas and Dary Dary took part in his show for his twenty-three year anniversary on stage in 2010 . In 2013 he performed in the De Extremo a Extremo program with Manuel Alejandro's merengue version of the song Porque me gustas a murir . Other record productions followed, including Rodando .
