Captain Mbaye Diagne Medal

The Captain Mbaye Diagne Medal , along with the Dag Hammarskjöld Medal and the UN Medal , is one of three awards given by the United Nations to people who have participated in international humanitarian, military or police missions . It was donated on May 8, 2014 and is named after Mbaye Diagne , a Senegalese captain and military observer for the United Nations .

Award requirements

The medal is awarded, regardless of the UN medal , to people who have shown extraordinary courage in an extremely dangerous situation while participating in a UN mission.

design

Ribbon buckle of the medal

On the front of the gold-colored medal is the emblem of the United Nations with the words United Nations, Exceptional Courage , on the back the words Captain Mbaye Diagne Medal, in the Service of Peace . The ribbon is striped in light blue and gold.

The ribbon buckle, in the colors of the ribbon, is about 3 centimeters wide.
