Carlos Gutiérrez , full name Carlos Eduardo Gutiérrez Silva , (born December 25, 1976 in Treinta y Tres ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.83 meter tall defensive player Gutiérrez was at the beginning of his career from 1996 to 2002 of the team River Plate Montevideos , for which he appeared in 146 games and scored two goals. In 2003 Atlético Mineiro was his employer. The Brazilians have made 23 personally goalless appearances for him. Then he was active from 2004 to 2006 at FK Rostow . With the Russians he played 65 games (no goal). In 2007 he was listed as a player for Liverpool Montevideo . From the Montevideans he moved to Central Español . In the period from 2008 to 2009 he was assigned 24 missions (no goal). In January 2010, the Uruguayan first division club Bella Vista signed him , for which he played 38 games (no goal) in the Primera División in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons.

National team

Gutiérrez made his debut on July 16, 2001 in the 1-1 draw in the preliminary round game of the Copa America 2001 against the Costa Rican selection in the Uruguayan national team when coach Víctor Púa replaced him in the 89th minute for Carlos María Morales . In the course of the tournament he was used in four other games in the "Celeste". He was always in the starting line-up. In his fifth and last international match on July 29, 2001, he missed the only and therefore decisive penalty in the 2-2 tie against the Honduran national team in the game for third place on penalties (4: 5 for Honduras). Further inserts in the Uruguayan selection did not follow. He did not score an international goal.
