Carlos Narea

Carlos Enrique Narea Schrebler (* 1953 in Antofagasta ) is a Chilean-Spanish musician and music producer.

The son of Myriam von Schrebler founded his first professional band TIZA in 1971 with Roberto Espinosa , his sister Paula Narea and his cousin Claudia Vidal . The latter retired after a short time and were replaced by Luchita Sousa and Michele Astaburuaga . With this line-up, the group recorded their first album in 1972 and their second album in 1973 at Discos Columbia in Spain. At the end of 1973 the band was disbanded and Narea founded Santiago with Tato Gomez , Mario Argandoña and Carlos Eduardo de los Reyes .

The band received a contract with the label operated by BASF in Germany and recorded two LPs in Cologne. In 1976 Narea left Santiago and in Madrid became assistant to Alfredo Garrido , the artistic director of Fonogram . From 1977 to 1980 he was Artistic Director of Polydor . Since then he has worked as a record producer and concert organizer. Narea is a partner of the Sociedad General de Autores de España (SGAE) and the Sociedad de Artistas, Interpretes o Ejecutantes (AIE), President of the Asociación de Productores Artísticos Independientes (APAI) and a member of the Management Board of the European Sound Directors Association (ESDA). In 2009 he was awarded the Premio de la Academia de la Música for Best Producer .
