Carlos Roberto Gallo

Carlos Roberto Gallo , called Carlos , (born March 4, 1956 in Vinhedo , state of São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian football goalkeeper .

During his career (1974–1993) he played for Ponte Preta , Corinthians , Atlético Mineiro , Guarani , Palmeiras , Portuguesa and Malatyaspor (1988–1990) in Turkey. He was twice elected to the Brazilian team of the year (so-called Silver Ball ).

He played 37 times for Brazil between June 1980 and June 1993 . He was part of the Brazilian squad at the 1979 Copa America , the 1980/81 Mundialito , the 1978 World Cup , the 1982 World Cup and the 1986 World Cup . It was not until the 1986 World Cup that he was used and conceded only one goal in five games in the quarter-finals against France by Michel Platini . Brazil were eliminated on penalties.
