Carlos Alberto Sánchez Romero (born February 13, 1980 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of defender .

career

Sánchez was under contract with Club América throughout his professional career , but was never able to develop into a regular player. In Torneo Verano 2002 he was part of the squad of the team that won the Mexican football championship.

From summer 2003 he was almost exclusively on loan for the Tigrillos UANL Coapa , the Club San Luis and América's farm team Socio Águila .

In the summer of 2008, while Sánchez was back training with the America's first team, he suffered a stroke during a training session on August 12, 2008 . The serious damage to health that resulted from this accident led to the premature end of his active career at the age of 28.
