Carmencita Hederman

Carmencita Hederman (born October 23, 1939 ) is an Irish politician and former member of the Seanad Éireann .

Hederman was a member of the Dublin City Council from 1974 to 1999 . During this time she held the office of Lord Mayor of Dublin from 1987 to 1988 . From 1989 to 1993 Hederman was Senator in the 19th Seanad Éireann. She was chosen as an independent for one of the three Senate seats of the University of Dublin .

Carmencita Hederman's daughter, Wendy Hederman, is also politically active. Elected in July 2004, she was a member of Dublin City Council like her mother until July 2007 . Wendy Hederman is a member of the Progressive Democrats.
