Carolina Rivas (actress)

Carolina Rivas Suárez (born March 4, 1978 in Santo Domingo ) is a Dominican singer, actress and theater producer .

Rivas worked for two years in commercials on television. From the age of four she had dance lessons and learned ballet, jazz, flamenco and disco dance. She later attended the Colegio San Judas Tadeo and studied at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE). As a stage actress, she was successful at the Teatro Nacional and the Palacio de Bellas Artes in plays such as Les Miserables and Chicago . She was awarded a Premio Casandra as actress of the year in 2006 for her role as Norma Cassidy in Victor / Victoria and in 2011 for the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago . As a theater producer, she was nominated for a Premio Casandra in 2009 and 2011. She made her film actress debut in 2011 in Jorge and Luis Morillos 3 al Rescate .
