Caroline Düringer , née Caroline Lange , widowed Caroline Brauer , ( August 3, 1802 in Darmstadt - June 26, 1853 ) was a German opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Her father, a Hessian staff auditor, had her voice trained at an early age. She made her debut in Frankfurt, where she married the singer M. Brauer, who died soon after. She now worked as a stage and concert singer in Germany and Switzerland. From 1836 to 1843 she was engaged in Leipzig. In 1843 she moved to Mannheim and then only sang in smaller groups. The year of the revolution shattered her health. After surviving two strokes, Düringer died on June 26, 1853 of "softening of the brain".

In 1829 she married the actor Philipp Jacob Düringer .
