Carrel in a library

A reading cabin is called a carrel.

Many university libraries provide their users with carrels for individual or group work in order to be able to do scientific work , e.g. B. dissertations , to be able to work on undisturbed. As a rule, the workplace can be reserved there for a limited period of time. These carrels can be locked and can only be occupied by the relevant user.
