Carson Mansion is a historic building in the Historic District of Old Town Eureka , California .
Carson Mansion was built by timber manufacturer William Carson in the 1880s. The wooden house, built in Queen Anne style , has three floors and a richly decorated tower. The finely crafted flourishes and tendrils are among the most beautiful in the state. Carson Mansion was family owned until the 1940s and has been owned by a gentlemen's club called Ingomar ever since . It is not open to the public. Carson Mansion is considered to be one of the most photographed Victorian buildings in California.
On October 15, 1991, Old Town Eureka, and thereby Carson Mansion, was added to the National Register of Historic Places as one of 154 Contributing Properties .
