Casa del Fauno (Montevideo)
The Casa del Fauno is a building in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo .
The building, erected in 1900, is located in Barrio Parque Rodó on Dr. Lauro Müller 2028-32 and Dr. Luis Piera 2031 between Dr. Pablo de María and Juan Manuel Blanes . The construction is attributed to the architect Alfredo Massüe . After a competition held in 1998, renovation work was carried out in the following two years under the direction of the architects Martín Gualano , Marcelo Gualano and C. Leiro . The building houses the headquarters of the Uruguayan pharmacy association Centro de Farmacias del Uruguay (CFU). The Casa del Fauno is one of the most important buildings in the Barrios and was declared a municipal cultural asset ( Bien de Interés Municipal ) in 1995 .
