Caspar Hackrodt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Caspar Hackrodt , also Caspar Hackrott , was a German Protestant theologian and hymn poet of the 16th century. From 1545 he was a preacher at the St. Jacobi Church in Hamburg. In the dispute over Christ's descent into hell , Hackrodt took a position against Johannes Aepinus , which is why he and two other opponents of Aepinus were expelled from the city on April 26 or October 11, 1551. No more is known about Hackrodt's life. He also wrote a hymn in the Low German language, which was first printed in the Enchiridion of sacred songs and psalms in Hamburg in 1558.
