The Caspari barracks was a Bundeswehr base in Delmenhorst . The barracks , which opened in 1935, were named after Walter Caspari . The area of ​​the barracks was 35 hectares.

Among other things, the air defense missile battalion 24 , which was equipped with Nike , was housed in the barracks . It was a military base until 1993, after which it was used by the site administration until 2003. In 2004 the Bundeswehr moved the last buildings empty. The site was sold.

The building of the armory was placed under monument protection in November 2001. In October 2008, the monument protection for the armory was lifted. Shortly afterwards the armory was demolished. Of the buildings built in 1935, only the former farriery was left in 2016 . All other buildings were demolished.

From 1935, changing units of the police and armed forces were housed in the barracks. During the Second World War, various units of the reserve army were stationed in the barracks. After the war, the barracks were partially used by British troops, refugees and businesses until 1958. From 1958, the Bundeswehr housed various units. In 1964 the anti-aircraft missile battalion 24 was relocated to the barracks, followed in April 1968 by the anti-aircraft missile battalion 35 .

In 1994 most of the barracks were cleared and only the site administration remained. The site was sold to a construction company for 6 million DM. In the years that followed, more and more buildings were demolished and businesses moved to the site.
