Period of Corsican megaliths

The smallest Torrean hilltop settlement of Castiddacciu in terms of area dominates the area around Tizzano in Sartènais on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica .

The complex is surrounded by Cyclopean masonry . The fortified access is covered by a stone slab . Behind the entrance there is a first walled platform with a rectangular fireplace on the left. On the right one climbs up to a second natural platform about eight by ten meters.

The megalithic complex with Tafoni rocks from the Corsican Bronze Age (1000 BC). was excavated in 1977 by P. Nebbia and JC Ottaviani. The finds, the floor plans (including those of an oval hut) and explanations are in the Museum of Sartène.
