Catarina Mourão (* 1970 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese director and filmmaker.

Life

Catarina Mourão studied law in Lisbon. After graduating in 1992, she studied film studies from 1993 to 1995 at the University of Bristol , where she graduated with honors. In 2015 she is doing a PhD in film studies at the University of Edinburgh .

In 1995 it had its first premiere at the BAFTA Festival. In 1998 she founded the Portuguese documentary film company AporDOC. In 2012 she created two video installations for the Portuguese pavilion at the 13th Venice International Architecture Biennale .
