Catharina Baker
Catharina Bäcker (around 1880 in Munich - after 1902 ) was a German opera singer ( soprano ).
Life
Bäcker was prepared for the stage career in Munich by the singing master Emilie Kaulla (1833–1912). She found her first engagement at the city theater in Riga, where she worked from 1900 and made her debut as "Ännchen" in Freischütz . She is a lovable opera soubrette with a fresh, beautiful voice and an advantageous outward appearance. Her playing talent is also praised. Among the popular roles in her repertoire are “Cherubin”, “Zerlina”, “Rose Friquet”, “Undine” and “Urbain”. Her life after 1902 is unknown.
