The Cathedral of Limerick is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic diocese of Limerick . It stands in the Irish city of Limerick and is built in a neo-Gothic style. The cathedral is the largest church building in Ireland and its tower is the tallest church spire on the island at 93.3 meters.

history

The cathedral's architect, Philip Charles Hardwick, began construction in 1856. It was completed in 1861. The church was renovated in 2003/2004. The city's older cathedral, St. Mary's Cathedral, is part of the Church of Ireland .
