Catrin Barnsteiner

Catrin Barnsteiner (* 1975 ) is a German writer, journalist and screenwriter.

Life

She attended the German School of Journalism in Munich and worked as an editor for the daily newspaper "Die Welt". As a freelance journalist, she wrote essays and reports a. a. for "Die Zeit" and was a columnist for "Bild am Sonntag".

Her volume of short stories "Verglugt" ( ISBN 3-86555-006-1 ), published in 2004, was enthusiastically received by critics. The eleven stories in the style of American short stories tell of people in seemingly ordinary circumstances who often lose control of their situation. The author's distanced but detailed look was particularly praised.
