Cavum conchae

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The cavum conchae (synonym: auditory canal entrance funnel) is the larger lower depression of the concha (see auricle ) on the front of the ear . It is a natural bowl-shaped recess in front of the entrance to the ear canal . If the cavum conchae is very large and deep, the middle and lower part of the ear protrudes, which can be corrected during an otopexy operation by resection of cartilage from the concha or by a so-called cavum rotation , also called concha rotation .
