Cdiscount SA , based in Bordeaux, is a French e-commerce platform controlled by the French retail group Groupe Casino (via the listed intermediate holding company Cnova ), originally specialized in CDs and DVDs, but today it offers a full range of consumer electronics, household appliances, IT, telephony, etc. . to clothing, furniture, do-it-yourself items, car accessories and the like, both directly and as an online marketplace , and is the leading French e-commerce platform.

Cdiscount was founded in 1998 by the brothers Hervé, Christophe and Nicolas Charle as a simple CD dealer and has been a subsidiary of the Casino Group since February 2000. In September 2008 Casino increased its direct and indirect stake to 79.6% of the capital. In January 2011, the Casino Group acquired all of the Charle brothers' shares: The group now holds almost the entire capital of Cdiscount (direct and indirect stake 99 , 6%).

In September 2011, Cdiscount launched "C Market", a marketplace that is open to third parties. The company's goal is to expand its offering and generate additional income through commissions for third-party sales. The total sales volume processed via the platform amounted to EUR 3.6 billion in 2018.
