Cedestis gysseleniella is a butterfly ( moth ) from the family of spider moths and bud moths (Yponomeutidae).
features
The moths reach a wingspan of 11 to 13 millimeters.
Flight time
The adults fly from June to July and are attracted to light.
Way of life
In spring, the larvae feed inside a needle of the Scots pine ( Pinus sylvestris ) or the coastal pine ( Pinus contorta ). You work your way from the base of the needle to the tip of the needle and then continue to eat outside in a light web. The caterpillars pupate in a white cocoon on the ground. The doll is initially colored green and darkens over time.
