Cee-Jam Records was an independent music label based in Hollywood , California. It was launched in 1963 by the songwriter, producer and publisher John Marascalco , who mainly published his own productions there. The label was mainly active in the mid-1960s and was only used sporadically in the 1970s. Altogether 13 different singles appeared on Cee-Jam Records, whereby the catalog numbers 100, # 3 and # 4 were assigned twice and some material that had already been released was rearranged. Most of the singles appeared in several editions with different label and logo designs, from mid-1965 with a reference to the new distribution partner Atco Records . Due to the diverse musical contacts of the label owner, no genre focus can be determined, there are recordings from the genres doo-wop , rockabilly , garage rock and early soul .

Many of the singles are now rarities and are traded at high prices. Count the Tears by Buster and James on the second Cee-Jam # 4 is one of the first published compositions by the young singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson . Dorsey Burnette's version of Bertha Lou was first released on Cee-Jam # 6 . The doo-wop group The Electras and the soul singer Art Wheeler worked for a large part of their work with Marascalco as a songwriter, producer and publisher on Cee-Jam or on one of his other labels.
