Cem Foundation

The Cem Foundation ( Turkish: Cem Vakfı ) is a foundation founded by the international law professor İzzettin Doğan on March 27, 1995, who is still in charge today.

In contrast to the Alevi-Bektashite Federation, it is considered relatively close to the state. The term “Cem” is an abbreviation for “Cumhuriyetçi Eğitim ve Kültür Merkezi Vakfı” (Republican Foundation Center for Education and Culture / Central Foundation for Republican Education and Culture), d. H. not for the Alewi religious Cem service .

Its head office in Turkey is located in Yenibosna, Istanbul . The German branch, founded in 1996, is based in Essen .

The foundation operates the television channel Cem TV, the radio station Cem Radyo and the news portal Habercem.
