The Alevi Bektashi Federasyonu (ABF) ( Turkish for Bektaschitische Alevi Federation ) is the Turkish umbrella organization of over 148 different organizations of the Alevis and the associated dervish order of the Bektashi .

The organization, whose general secretary (as of April 2013) is Ali Balkız , was founded in 2002 during the term of office of Prime Minister Bülent Ecevit and is based in the Turkish capital Ankara . Balkız's predecessor was Selahattin Özel . The federation is divided into the three separate bodies of the General Board of Directors ( Genel Yönetim Kurulu ), a Supervisory Board ( Denetleme Kurulu ) and a Disciplinary Commission ( Disiplin Kurulu ).

The federation criticizes, among other things, that the Alevi minority in Turkey is assimilated .

The federation should also have international contacts to 495 Alevi and Bektashite organizations and associations throughout Europe, such as the Alevi Congregation Germany and the Association of Alevi Youth in Germany .
