Central Operations

Central Operations ( CO ) is a division of the London Metropolitan Police Service . She is responsible for supporting other departments. The department is headed by an Assistant Commissioner (since December 2010: Lynne Owens).

structure

The department is divided into several groups, each responsible for specific tasks:

  • CO1: Central Operations HQ (management staff)
  • CO3: Emergency Preparedness Operational Command Unit (emergency planning unit)
  • CO5: Firearms Command Unit (Waffenkommando)
  • CO10: Central Communications Command (radio control center)
  • CO11: Public Order Operational Command Unit
  • CO12: 2012 Olympics preparation (Olympic Games preparation staff, formerly Public Order Training)
  • CO15: Traffic Operational Command Unit
  • CO16: Traffic Criminal Justice Unit
  • CO19: Specialist Firearms Command
  • CO20: Territorial Support Group
