Iguara

The Central Victoria Railway at Yaguajay (en) in the Sancti Spíritus Province of Cuba was a 51.3 km (31⅞ miles) long narrow-gauge railway with the unusual gauge of 700 mm.

Route

The narrow-gauge railway ran from the Central Victoria sugar factory to Playa de Victoria on the north coast, and there were a few turns into the sugar cane fields. A steep section operated with a cable winch connected a lower level with a higher plateau.

There were transfer stations on the Yaguajay and Narcisa railways. One of them was on the Cuban Northern Railway in the city of Iguara . The rail weight per meter was 20 kg / m (40 pounds / yard).

Rail vehicles

The railway was operated around 1909 with six locomotives, 19 flat cars, 12 freight cars and 240 sugar cane flat cars. One of the locomotives was a 2-8-0 narrow gauge railroad locomotive from the Baldwin Locomotive Works (BLW 13021/1892).
