Sancti Spíritus is a province in central Cuba . Its capital is the city of the same name, Sancti Spíritus . Sugar production and cattle breeding as well as rice and tobacco cultivation are the most economically important branches of industry in the province. In addition, the tourism industry is becoming increasingly important.

The province of Sancti Spíritus has a total area of 6777.28 km². In the north the Atlantic forms the natural border, in the west the province of Ciego de Ávila . The Caribbean joins in the south, the provinces of Cienfuegos and Villa Clara in the east and northeast.
The city of Trinidad , which until the 19th century was one of the most important sugar metropolises in Cuba, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the sugar factories of Valle de los Ingenios, 20 km outside, since 1988 .
