The Center d'Essais des Landes is a launch site for sounding rockets and for testing military missiles in France between Biscarrosse and the Atlantic coast. The Center d'Essais des Landes was opened in 1967 to replace the former launch site in Hammaguir .

The main launch pad of the country's Center d'Essais is the Base Lancement Balistique ( 44 ° 21 ′ 43 ″  N , 1 ° 15 ′ 0 ″  W ), from which most of the medium-range missiles were launched.

At least in the past, the Center d'Essais des Landes could be visited every two years on the French national holiday .
