Center for Pacific Crops and Trees

The Pacific Community's Center for Pacific Crops and Trees (CePaCT) , formerly the Regional Germplasm Center (RGC), is a seed bank operated by the Pacific Community (SPC) 's Land Resources Division. Their purpose is to store and preserve seeds from the Pacific region. The facility is located in Fiji and is the successor to several local seed banks that have been difficult to maintain. The center uses modern methods of cryopreservation and plant reproduction .
