The Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada ( CICESE , "Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education of Ensenada") is a Mexican university in Ensenada , Baja California .

history

It was founded in 1973 primarily at the instigation of the UNAM from Mexico City , which until then had trained around 80% of all Mexican students and therefore had a strong interest in the decentralization of the education system in Mexico.

In cooperation with the Instituto Politécnico Nacional and the UNAM, CICESE developed the first all-Mexican satellite SATEX I in 2002 .
