Chèvremont is a ridge that slopes steeply on all sides in the Weser valley (Vesdre in French), about 7 km southeast of Liège in the municipality of Chaudfontaine .

In the 8th century there was a fortification on the mountain . The caretaker Pippin the Middle founded a community of canons here and was buried there in 714.

Today there is a Lady Chapel on the mountain, which is used as a place of pilgrimage, and the Notre-Dame de Chèvremont basilica .
