Chalkiope (daughter of Aietes)
Chalkiope or Chalciope ( Greek Χαλκιόπη ) was a princess of Greek mythology . She was the daughter of King Aietes of Colchis , sister of Medea and wife of Phrixus .
King Aietes took in Phrixus, who had fled Boeotia , and gave him his daughter Chalkiope to wife. Together they had the sons Argos , Melas , Phrontis and Kytisoros . According to Pausanias , they also had a fifth son, Presbon . A daughter named Helle is also mentioned.
