The Chamanna Cluozza ( [tɕɐˈmanɐˌkluə̯tsɐ] ? / I , called Blockhaus Cluozza in the AV guide ) is a hiking hut in the heart of the Swiss National Park . It is located northeast of the Piz Quatterval at an altitude of 1882 meters. Audio file / audio sample

history

The hut, which is owned by the national park, was built in 1910 on behalf of the Swiss Natural Research Society. After various smaller extensions and alterations, the hut was completely renovated in the summer of 1993.

Accesses

  • The hut can be reached in a walk of around three hours from the valley town of Zernez via Prasüra, Il Pra and Fops ( 2126  m above sea level ) (hiking trail T3 according to SAC scale ).
  • Alternatively, a demanding ascent starting in Val Trupchun via Val Müschauns, Fuorcla Val Sassa ( 2857  m above sea level ) and Val Sassa is possible in 8 hours over easy climbing areas and firn slopes (T4 according to SAC scale).

Hikes from the mountain hut
  • over the Murter ridge ( 2545  m above sea level ) via Praspöl to Vallun Chafuol on the Ofenpass road , walking time: 3¾ hours; with slightly longer variants according to Punt la Drossa or Ova Spin .
  • Via Valletta to the Piz Quattervals ( 3,164  m above sea level ), high alpine mountain tour, walking time: 5 hours.
