Chamba (people)

The Chamba (also called "Samba" ) are a people of Cameroon and Nigeria .

Although they form a genetic unit as an ethnic group, they speak two distantly related languages: Chamba leko of the Leko-Nimbari languages and Samba Daka of the dakoid languages . The Chamba still have their own partly religious belief known as the Chamba religion .

The Chamba in Cameroon are split into two sub-sets: Bali-Nyonga, Bali Kumbat, Bali-Gham, Bali-Gangsin, and Bali-Gasho.
