Championship Wrestling From Georgia , or CWG for short , is the name of a former US wrestling promotion that was based in Atlanta , Georgia . The promoter was Ole Anderson .
history
The history of the promotion begins by tradition in March 1974 when Paul Jones established the Georgia Championship Wrestling promotion . In 1984 Jones retired and passed the doctorate on to his co-promoters Jim Barnett , Jack and Gerald Brisco, and to Ole Anderson .
In March 1984, Anderson prevailed over the others as chief booker . These then sold their larger share to the World Wrestling Federation in July of the same year . Anderson reorganized his stake on July 14, 1984 in the new NWA sub-organization ( English. Affiliate ) Championship Wrestling From Georgia . But Anderson needed a strong sponsor, which he found in Jim Crockett .
However, Crockett began to build his own promotion Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling to the national organization. So in March 1985 he bought Andersons' doctorate.
