Chaord

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The suitcase word chaordisch refers to a system of rules that combines the properties of chaos and order . The term was coined by Dee Hock , the founder and former CEO of the VISA credit card organization. He first introduced it on March 19, 1993 during a speech at the Santa Fe Institute , in which he referred to his experiences with the creation and further development of VISA.

The mixing of chaos and order is described as a fruitful coexistence of both elements, in which neither the chaotic nor the ordering effect predominates. Hock assumes that nature is also largely organized in this way, especially living organisms and the evolutionary process as a whole.

In the software area, too, open and at the same time ordered systems such as wikis are seen as examples of chaotic organization.
