The Große Pätschsee is located in the Mecklenburg Lake District in the municipality of Zislow . It is located northwest of the town of the same name. The body of water has a maximum length of about 1.2 km and a maximum width of 770 m. At the northern end of the lake is the drain to the Plauer See (Mecklenburg) . The lakeshore is almost entirely wooded. To the southwest of the Großer Pätschsee is the Kleine Pätschsee, to which it is connected via a ditch.
