The Charles Carroll Bluff consists of 230 m high cliffs on the island of Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . These rise south of the Sentinel on the Laurens Peninsula .
The object is named after the Charles Carroll under Captain T. Long, with which Heard Island was sighted for the second time in 1849 after its discovery in 1833.
