Charles Goldfarb
Charles F. Goldfarb was best known for his work on IBM's description language Generalized Markup Language (GML) in 1969 , which he developed together with Ed Mosher and Ray Lorie . In 1974 Charles Goldfarb further developed GML to Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), of which, for example, the markup language XML is a subset.
Today Charles F. Goldfarb is an honorary member of the American Association for Technical Communication STC (Society for Technical Communication) and recipient of the PIA Gutenberg Prize.
