Chaur al-Udaid
The Chaur al-Udaid ( Arabic خور العديد, DMG ḫaur al-ʿUdaid ; also Khawr al Udayd ) is an inner coastal body of water of the Persian Gulf in the southeast of Qatar on the border with Saudi Arabia . It is divided into an inner (landward) and an outer (seaward) lagoon . The outer lagoon communicates with the gulf through a narrow natural channel.
Because of its remarkable and globally unique combination of geological and geomorphological properties, the Chaur al-Udaid nature reserve was put on its tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage by Qatar in 2008 .
