Chemie in Labor und Biotechnik (CLB) is a monthly trade journal.

The monthly magazine, which is distributed by subscription, contains overview articles on analytical methods and advances in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, materials science and physics as well as the social developments associated with them. One focus of the magazine is dedicated to education and training.

history

The magazine was founded in 1950 by Wilhelm Foerst with the Frankfurter Umschau-Verlag Brönner-Umschau-Gruppe under the name "CLB Understandable Journal for Laboratory and Operations". At that time, Foerst was head of the editorial department of the Ullmann Encyclopedia at Verlag Chemie in Weinheim (since 1996 part of the John Wiley & Sons publishing group ). Wilhelm Nils Fresenius was also one of the founding editors . The first editor-in-chief was Hans Joachim Flechtner . In 2001 Rolf Kickuth acquired the magazine.
