The Chevron Rocks are a prominent rock formation in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Maud Mountains they loom at the northern end of the Retrospect Spur near the head end of the Hood Glacier .
Participants in the New Zealand Alpine Club Antarctic Expedition (1959–1960) climbed the Retrospect Spur from Hood Glacier. They named the rock formation so because its shape reminded it of a V-shaped badge of rank ( English chevron ).
