Chief Administrative Officer

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the term used in English-speaking countries for a person who is responsible for the administrative management of private, public or state cooperation.

The CAO is one of the highest persons in an organization, he leads the daily process and reports directly to the CEO . In some organizations, the CAO is also the president. Due to his managerial role, he is very similar to the COO . In municipalities, the title CAO is used as an alternative to the district manager / district administrator or administrative manager.
