Chief Analytics Officer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) is the term in English-speaking countries for a person who is responsible for analyzing data within a company or public institution.

The position of the CAO, together with that of the Chief Information Officer , gained more and more importance due to the steadily growing requirement for the evaluation of data and figures. Both positions are similar in some ways, with the CIO focusing more on the infrastructure to operate and manage IT and the CAO focusing more on pure analysis.

A similar position to the CAO is the Chief Data Officer , who is more concerned with data processing and maintenance. The position as a CAO requires a solid basic knowledge of statistical analysis, marketing , finance and business administration . The CAO can be a member of the board of directors , but this depends on the specific company.
