China Railways Test and Certification Center
The China Railways Test and Certification Center ( CRCC ; Chinese 中 铁 检验 认证 中心 ) is responsible for the certification of rail products for the Chinese market. Until 2003, the state-owned company was still called the Railways Product Certification Center . In 2012, business activities were expanded so that it is not only responsible for rail products, but also for the associated equipment. At the moment, more than 300 employees at the CRCC are responsible for certification.
Products subject to certification
In 2014 the product catalog of the CRCC comprised 378 products, all of which can be viewed in the official product catalog of the CRCC. This includes the following products:
- Switches
- Locomotives
- individual wagons and entire trains
Components in the rail sector that are subject to certification include:
- Signaling technology
- Insulators in the rail area
- Energy supply components
- Brakes and brake pads
Certification process
To apply for CRCC approval / certification, the (Implementation Rules and GB standards ) must first be purchased from the CRCC. Then the application documents of the GB standards (according to the respective product) must be submitted to the CRCC. After submitting the application documents, the companies must have product tests carried out in China at the CRCC. The company then receives the test reports with the results of the product tests. However, these documents are only issued in Chinese .
If the product tests are successfully passed, then Chinese inspectors come to the production site in the next step to carry out a factory inspection. In the event that the plant successfully passes the two-day audit , the CRCC will issue an approval certificate.
