Kristofer Hivju (born December 7, 1978 in Oslo , Norway ) is a Norwegian actor .

Life

Kristofer Hivju, the son of Norwegian actor Erik Hivju , had his first minor role in the television series Fox Grønland (2001). In 2004 he graduated from the Russian Academy of Theater Arts (GITIS) in Århus, Denmark . Since then, Hivju has played in several US film productions such as The Thing (2011) and After Earth (2013) and became known to a wider audience through his role as Tormund Giant Death in the series Game of Thrones (2013-2019).

For his performance in Mats Ruben Östlund winning film drama Force majeure Hivju was with the Swedish Film Award Guldbagge as Best Supporting Actor award.
