Chesil Cove

Chiswell is a small town on the Isle of Portland just off the south coast of England. It belongs to the county of Dorset .

The former fishing village has now grown together with Fortuneswell, the largest town on Portland Island. The lower-lying districts on the flat land that hardly rises from the sea are counted as Chiswell, while the actual Fortuneswell extends up the hill. Chiswell - the name is also pronounced like Chisel or Chesil - marks the southern end of Chesil Beach , a coastal formation designated as a World Heritage Site, which ends here in a section called Chesil Cove .
