Chocolat (Manga)

Chocolat ( Japaneseシ ョ コ ラ) is a manga series by the Japanese draftsman Eisaku Kubonouchi (including Tsurumoku Dokushin Ryō ). It can be assigned to his genre.

Ichigo Kato is released from prison after over five years and finally wants to return to his gang. But when he wants to visit his mafia boss Komugi Matsuyoshi, he learns that he has given up his mafia gang and now wants to open a pastry shop. Komugi's wife Maya, who died three years ago, was a passionate cake maker. Shocked by Komugi's change, Ichigo now wants to revive the gang, which turns out to be very difficult. Suddenly, a 16-year-old girl named Chiyoko appears, who turns out to be Maya's daughter with her ex-husband. From now on she wants to live with Komugi and Ichigo in the bakery, because her father is bankrupt and has run away from home. Komugi is happy to welcome a girl who looks just like his beloved Maya.

Publications

Chocolat was published in Japan from 1999 to 2003 in individual chapters in the manga magazine Big Comic Spirits . The Shogakukan Publishing House also published these individual chapters in seven edited volumes.

In 2003 the manga was filmed into a 45-part television series with real actors.
