Chopper (propeller)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chopper is a special shape for boat propellers , especially for outboard motors . This shape is mainly used for particularly fast boats . A chopper can break through the surface of the water without spinning and losing its thrust. This makes it possible to mount the motor higher, which generally results in a higher speed. In addition, the chopper has a high, gradually increasing fall angle, i.e. the degree of alignment of the blade to the hub . This leads to a strong buoyancy at the bow .
